The belief that women and men should have the same rights and should be treated equally. This also fights so the gender roles are supresed for both genders. This doesn't want the supperiority of women it wants the same for both.

What feminism is now
Still a good cause, most women have gotten basic human rights, but we still fight for the ones who don't. There are also many other things such as d/m/stic v/olence (o, m, i) and r/pe (a) that are still very large problems that need to be solved. Intersectionality is also something that needs to be studied more in depth. I am in no way saying that men do not have these problems too, I am just saying it is more common that women have these problems. You can be a feminist man.

-The percentage of rapists is actually very small, but all cases of rape should be taken serious. Everyone is innocent until proven otherwise.
-Men and women should be payed equally. (in 1963, the Equal Pay Act was signed into law in the USA, but studies show that there is still a gender pay gap that varies between aproximately 9.1 percent and 70 percent.)

Get the Feminism mug.Feministsare dangerously often confused with feminazis. A feminazi is a man-hating extremist who believes women to be better than men and are basically just reverse sexists. A feminist is someone who fights for equal rights between men and women, since women are still being opressed all over the world in many, many different ways. An example of this opression is the pay gap, which many wrongly believe to be a myth, despite it being very easy to find plenty of evidence with just a quick and simple google search. Feminism tries to fight this opression through protests and campaigns like #freethenipple or #freewomen.
