Mechanic's Friend

1. Any Vehicle of any make or model known for inherent problems.
2. A car/truck/van/etc that is broken more often than it is running.
3. Any goofy, oddball, badly engineered, or poorly implimented component that causes a vehicle to reflect definition 2.
4. That tiny 99 cent part that breaks at the most inconvenient time and then magically ballons into a $1,400 shop bill.

Dammit! My Thunderbird is a real Mechanic's friend! That's the fifth starter it's chewed up since I bought it!

ex-best friend

it’s one of the saddest things.. when two people really get to know each other; their secrets, their fears, their favorite things, what they love, what they hate, literally everything, and then they go back to being strangers. it’s like you have to walk past them and pretend like you never knew them, never even talked to them before, when really, you know everything about them.

Mom of the Friend Group

A friend who is like a mom, they will treat you and your friends like her kids, they will also be someone who regularly checks on you and keeps you out of trouble. They will be the one who gets you out of fights and settles them. Really good advice giver.

Man, I don't know, talk to Sofia she's like the mom of the friend group she'll give you better advice.

friend high

The pleasant "high" feeling one acquires around close friends, often compared to being on some sort of drug. Accompanied by lots of laughing, stupidity, excitement, good conversation, and loud obnoxiousness, ie the act of getting "high" off another's good friendship vibes.

Often considered a replacement for drugs and alcohol, though not heavily supported.

2. "Watch the dosage on THAT friendship, Carlos..."

friend by association

A person who is your friend, but only because he is one of your friend's friends. It doesn't really matter how much you like him, or how often you converse, he is still your friend by association. But he can only be a friend by association if you have met him, (and not just heard about him) and talked to him.

Erik is Chris's friend. Josh is Erik's friend. Erik introduced him to Chris. Chris greeted him. Josh is now Chris's friend by association, and vice versa.
