douchebag

A shallow, contemptible person (usually male) who, despite some financial means, is so insecure in himself that he requires validation from others of like mind. In fact, to the douchebag, keeping up with other douchebags is all-important, and the often live close to one another in douchey neighborhoods where they can easily seek attention from one another through ostentatious behavior and conspicuous possessions and disparage others of a less-douchey persuasion.
