When a piece of media gets you invest in a romantic relationship just to kill of one of the characters to a chronic disease, ultimately making the viewer depressed.

Often used to describe a feeling gotten while viewing a piece of media.

Comes from the Anime “Your Lie In April”, but not exclusive to it.
