The word ‘same’ is used when something is similar to what another person has done and verbally expressed. It is a form of bonding and can be said in response to an emotional state, activity, thought, action or idea. To say ‘same’ in response, it does not have to be truthful. It can be a complete lie, especially if the person does not understand what the initial statement means. ‘Same’ is responded when the initial person reiterating ‘same’ says ‘same’. There is hopefully complete misunderstanding masked by both parties using the word ‘same’ and yet total clear communication on a closeness feeling of identical elation. It has nothing to do with what is originally said.
