A Nova Scotia handshake is the act of flatulating onto a seat or cushion before relinquishing the seat to another person. The purpose of a Nova Scotia handshake is to leave a more lasting impression in the mind of the recipient than a traditional handshake.

Most people consider Northern Virginians to be snotty, arrogant, rich, and easily offended. This is not completely true. Rich, mostly yes. Arrogant and snooty, sometimes. Easily offended, not necessarily.
Northern Virginia (especially Fairfax County) boasts some of the best public schooling systems in the nation. The private schools, though, are also quite good but overpriced (just like the housing).
