Lesions and or scarring appearing on one’s ankles that could be mistaken for scarring from injecting the drug Heroin. Usually caused by scratching bug bites until they scar, eczema, or actually shooting heroin though your ankles.
Jamie: oh my god, Trucinda! Look how bad my heroin ankles look!
Trucinda: oh no Jamie, are you shooting heroin through your ankles?
Jamie: oh heavens no! I got attacked by mosquitos a couple weeks ago right on my ankles. I couldn’t leave them alone, I’ve been scratching and scratching for weeks!
Trucinda: you should put some cortisone cream on them to help stop the itch.

"I see you inherited the families weak ankles," he had stated upon seeing how they had been seated on the couch, with his head in her lap and fingers running through his hair.
As she stepped along, it seemed as though her weak ankles had stuck again as she stumbled into the man infront of her. At once, the man offered his hand to the woman's delight.

The Brass Ankles are a tribe of Sweetgum Kriyul people, a triracial isolate Creole group mostly concentrated in Eastern North America with 1 to 2 million people. The term Brass Ankles was originally a slur, but the community it reclaiming the term, similar to Melungeons and other Sweetgum Kriyul tribes.
Brass Ankles are among the most friendly people I've ever met. They are a people of honour and dignity and have my respect because of this.
