Over the following years, the group continued using extortion and manipulation, with people online claiming multiple deaths were connected to its activity.
808 operated with a hierarchy, rotating leadership, and invite only calls. Members recorded sessions without consent, isolated victims, and used blackmail to force compliance. The group resurfaced multiple times before fading out around 2019 2020 after its main organizers (lunatic,Baptist) went inactive. Today, “808” is referenced in online safety discussions as one of the most extreme examples of how private video chat groups exploited minors and caused long term harm.
