Guilt Trip

This is when a person feels very guilty over a situation, and their mind goes on a trip into a path of thought where they become upset over their wrongdoing. This is very much filled with remorse, and the inability to get their mind back into a normal state of thinking. Often times occours when a situation is your fault, or if you care deeply about the people involved in this situation.

"Oh great, now I'm going on a guilt trip over the math homework that I didn't complete for class today...again."

Guilt Run

A run taken to relieve guilt. Usually performed by teenagers, these runs accomplish two things- the release of guilt throught the run, and the attention gained from their peers as people talk about their recent guilt runs. This attention then acts to relieve further guilt. Sometimes, jealousy of attention leads to additional running by the original guilt runners close companions. This is known as copycat running, and can also lead to irrationality and a domino effect throughout small communities.

guilt nap

A well-known term in law enforcement for the short nap you take when you're in the interview room before speaking to detectives about some shit you got caught for. It's almost always a sign of guilt.

It's caused by the fight/flight response. You were "flighting" before they caught you, now you're in cuffs looking 25-life in the face. Since fighting's no option and you can't run anymore, your body overloads with adrenaline and shuts itself down in a sort of mini-panic attack.

The detectives walked in and interrupted Bobby's guilt nap to question him about his involvement in a murder.
