Aikerim

Kazakh girls name, ‘Ai’- moon, ‘kerim’- beauty. The name originally was created by great Kazakh poet Abay Kunanbayev, she used to call his wife ‘Ai, Kerim-ai’, which means, ‘Oh, such a beauty’. Then it became a widespread name Aikerim. During Soviet Times it was Russified and converted to Aigerim, because it was phonologically easier to pronounce for Russians. But the original name is Aikerim.
