the vecna issue

"Vecna" is a character from DND popularized by Stranger Things Season 4. The Vecna Issue is when a mysterious form of media is given context, and isn't as mysterious anymore. Other examples would be giving "levels" to the Backrooms and adding random monsters into it as well.

1: Some people don't understand that fear of the unknown is the scariest type of fear.

2: Yeah, I didn't need to know Vecna created the Mind Flayer, now it's just kind of boring.

3: Yeah, I'd call that the Vecna Issue. When you add context to something that has none, making it way less scary.

Opxx issue means a ‘slang’ in filipino, meaning “oops issue”. Commonly used in something problematic or a drama.

Friend 1: bhie! Tignan mo tong’ drama nakita ko sa news feed ko.
