An alternative phrase to replace the commonly over used and seldom meant acronym of "lol". The "samafls" more specifically indicates an exhalation of air that generally accompanies an expression of appreciation; hence the meaning "smiled and made a fft-like sound". Another take on the "samafls" is the "samaflsoot", which is related to the samafls in much the same way that "rofl" is related to "lol". Through the addition of "oot" (which stands for 'once or twice'), one indicates that their amusement is greater than a simple "samafls" would represent.
