Pretendian

usually a word placed towards pale skin europeans, claiming indigenous ancestry, claiming DNA tests when they can't place you in a specific region, claiming culture that is not theirs, a nasty being towards real indigenous people.

Pretengineer

A person who has no hesitation in making decisons with regard to complex issues, but who refuses to accept any responsibility for potential consequences. This person is often very loud during group conversations and will unnecessarily CC many others into an email chain for demonstration purposes. However, this person will seemingly dissappear from the conversation as soon as questions are raised over accountability and ownership.

Frank has been pretengineering a long time and needs to let everyone know how things should be done.

Frank emailed Lee a long list of items which needed to be ammended on Lee's design. Some Frank's suggestions were creating conflicts in the design and Lee asked Frank for written clarification.

Frank replied that he was too busy and told Lee to speak with Pat.

Pretend-planning

Plans are made but only exist as mere ideas. These plans never take place. This does not mean that anyone disapproved of the plans; in fact, those involved usually have fun working through the planning process. However, usually, it is silently mutually understood that the plans are significantly more likely NOT to take place than to follow through.

Individuals that were involved in the initial planning usually stop committing after the excitement surrounding it has died down & reality has set in.
This is a tale-old occurrence that many of us will experience in our lives: the process of pretend-planning

Ex: The type of plans that you & your out-of-state boo make every other weekend, except they never follow through. The reality of the long distance between you 2 makes it difficult to commit.

While on their weekend hiking trip, their pretend-planning lead them to opt for brunch and bottomless mimosas instead of hitting the trails.
