A great gatsby can also mean a huge steaming shit. as in if you need to be excused to shit and you were in a literature type environment then you may excuse yourself by simply saying "excuse me sir but i must depart for the water closet for i have a very great gatsby i must evacuate from my bowel". this is the most polite way to say "i need to take a fucking shit right fucking now you fucking fuck", which in most cases is utterly unacceptable.
