It means several things. For instance in FPS <3 can mean thank you, or it can even be a way to taunt other players that you may have shot. It doesn't necessarily mean love.

(after you shot someone) : <3

Their response: I'll get you back!

(They shoot you back): <3

Or say someone almost shot you but a teammate shoots them first: <3 (teammates name)
