When a relationship that was once filled with love and laughter ends due to no one's fault. The two involved still have immense love for one another, and care so deeply (usually one more than the other but not always). They still keep each other in their lives platonically, but when people see them out together no one would guess they broke up by the way they interact with one another and look at each other. They pretend they are over each other, and the romantic love is gone but they both know that's not true. The friendship always ends tho, in one of two ways. most commonly they go down their separate paths after trying so hard to keep their friendship, or the more unlikely, one of the two is brave enough to fight for their relationship, however, no one is usually brave enough and it ends.

me: no... I'm not okay, but we will be. we still love and care for each other.. it just wasn't working between us... so we broke up.. we are friends.. but its a kind of skinny love now.
friend: oh, be careful, I heard those never work well.
me: I know... but he's worth it.
