Military slang used in World War II. There was a lot of FUBAR going around during the Vietnam War which officially was not a war but a police action that killed thousand of young Americans.

Originally was "Fucked Up Beyond All Recognition" But has mutated through the years to mean "Fucked Up Beyond All Repair" especially in car racing circles i.e. SCCA

After messing up and downshifting from 4th to 1rst gear the transmission was Fubar

A fubuntu is the prototype of a product rapidly built which tries to emulate all the intended features.

While it is a compelling idea and such artefact can be useful to showcase the latest thinking and do user testing, as the features grow this can easily become hard to manage hence not much faster to iterate than the product itself.

The term was coined by the design team in Ubuntu who started developing an Adobe Flash version of their desktop operating system but then stopped for its costly maintenance and its poor performance.

We need a Fubuntu to raise some funding.
