straight-edge

Ideals invented by Ian MacKaye. Primarily focuses on maintain a pure body and conscience by abstaining from drugs and alcohol. Promotes monogomous relationships (not mariage) and a vegetarian diet (although this is not essential). Ian MacKaye went so far as to shave his head but no one does this as a sign of their devotion anymore. Early straight-edgers could be identified by 'X's tattoed into their hands.

Straight-edge used to mean something. Now you see kids who shop at Hot Topic using Sharpies to draw 'X's on their hands.

The Cutting Edge

A periodical distributed by the finer portion of the student body of Scarsdale High School. It rivals the school newspaper "The Maroon"; which is basically just annoying and pointless, The Cutting Edge has astute material and cheeky jokes which the Maroon lacks. Also, the Cutting Edge doesn't make articles about teen drinking, and take a picture from someone's facebook, and put it on the maroon. Fucking idiots.

The Maroon: "Underage drinking in SHS?"

Sean: *witty anecdote about someone sleeping with his friend's mom*

An underground horror punk band. The members are Evan Poe, John Traveras, Sean Burke, Max Reimont, Matt McCarthy. They also have a guest rapper, named Cahman. They have songs such as While the city Burns, Catologue of Injustice, and The Victimizer (Godheaded Mind)

Originating from the term Straightedge, edge people do not consume mind altering substances. (This can include Caffeine, Alcohol, Drugs and promiscuous sex) Lots of people who are Edge show this by putting 'x's on their hands.
