Aidcation

A volunteering trip supposedly about helping others, but really just an excuse to relax and see foreign places. Aidcationers will seek to maximize their enjoyment and minimize their sacrifice.

"Hey, how was your service trip to Guatemala?"
"It was amazing! We got to explore the rainforest, we visited old Mayan ruins, and we even got to swim with dolphins! Oh, yeah, we also tutored some kids for a couple hours at an orphanage. Serving others is so rewarding!"

describes the inability to avoid auctions and their accompanying behaviors. Auctionitis may be benign, where one may find an item which is necessary is cheapest at auction, or, acute where in combination with shopaholicism the sufferer experiences a painful, penniless, clutter-world where Oprah would be unwelcomed.

Please, extend my credit line so I can bid on that pair of Ferragamo boots, my auctionitis is acting up.

abducktion

Refers to da unintentional shanghaiing dat happened to Garfield when he tried to capture "da largest bird he'd ever seen" --- i.e., he grabbed da quacker's legs, causing said started waterfowl to fly off with said chubby tabby dangling beneath it.

Garfield did eventually make it hack home after his unfortunate abducktion, but not before he'd endured a number of assorted misadventures, such as being netted by the local stray-pets catcher, feeling in a famished panic upon discovering that there was no "real food" (i.e., rich/fatty/salty/sugary junk) in a health-food store, etc..
