A lighthearted reaction upon receiving disappointing news of some sort. Usually something that isn't a particularly a big deal, esp. when it primarily affects someone else - sort of a mild schadenfreude. Sometimes doubled or tripled, and possibly said in a sing-songy voice for added comedic effect to imitate a muted trumpet, which is how the meme originated.

You didn't get any napkins with your takeout pork fried rice? Womp womp.

Wompergagging

A combination of excessive womping e.g. talking, gossip and lollygagging e.g. dawdle, loaf, To dawdle, usually holding someone up or delaying some other action. Mostly occurs when people are driving while talking on their cell phones, going too slow and creating miles of traffic backup.

The lady in front of me on the highway was wompergagging causing me to be late for my appointment.

wombfare

The equivalent of welfare for adult children born into the right womb (i.e. rich family). Instead of society funding their aimless existence with a welfare cheque, they have the bank of mom and dad to write the cheques instead. Somehow society views welfare recipients as lower class than wombfare recipients. This despite the fact that both characteristically don’t work real jobs to fund their lifestyle.

TIM: Your cousin Jimmy seems to be living pretty well but doesn’t seem to do anything for work. What gives?

BOB: My aunt and uncle have money so he’s been on wombfare since he turned 18

TIM: Must be nice!

A lighthearted phrase that indicates a loss.; A sound of loss heard on a gameshow. (first womp is a higher frequency sound than the second womp)

ex 1:
Friend 1: "Hey man, I can't find the list of people who were interested in joining the chess club"

Friend 2: womp womp, maybe it's a sign for you to stop being lame

ex 2:
Friend 1: HAHAHA, that girl didn't give you her phone number...wonk wonk.

Friend 2: What did you just say? The proper phrase is 'womp womp'. What are you? An idiot or something? womp womp.
