a trance-like state in which one goes from a page brought up on wikipedia or sites that are similar and goes from one hyperlink to another and another...until realizing that he/she has wasted a substantial amount of time and has gone completely off task.

hey bro, i was doing research for my history project on the Cuban Missile Crisis on wikipedia and went into a total wikitrance: I look up at my computer clock, it's been an hour since I started, and I'm reading about Paris Hilton's sex tape!

Wikitripping

Verb. Wikitripping is when a person looks something up on Wikipedia and while reading the article, they click on one of the links within it, and proceed to read that article, upon which they click on another link and again read that article. The process may repeat itself many times, often until the person loses track of time and/or has no recollection of what information they originally sought.

I was Wikitripping till 3am!

Not to be confused with wikiality! When the victors of a wikiwar ban the oposing group members for vandalism (which they did not commit.) A sort of play off of the word fatality.

On Wikipedia, the frothy mixture of frenzied attacks and bad faith accusations that forms when an editor suggests deletion of an article based on common sense and human decency. Often pages of drama result, and bad feelings persist for days.

Yeah, wikitorum forms pretty easily if you upset anal editors.

Wikit

A conjunction of the two words, "Wikipedia" and "It." Used when a debate between friends has gotten to a point where it is clear both parties could be correct. Thus, the two decide to "Wikit," meaning to check The vast database of knowledge that is Wikipedia.com in order to see who was correct.

Dude 1: " I'm pretty sure it was Jefferson who fucked the slave girl. Lincoln freed them."

Dude 2: "Fuck. Wikit!"

Dude 1: "Ok, ok, lemme just update these firefox exstensions...FlashGOT! OMG! What the Fuck does it do?"

A statistic of questionable reliability, often completely ridiculus, but that is assumed to be fact, usually found on wikipedia. Can also be applied to any statistic found on wikipedia.

"Did you know that 4 out of every 10 eskimo children are eaten by wolves before the age of twelve?"
"For serious man, or is that just another wikitistic?"
