n. a technique typically used by law enforcement wherein the wooden baton - traditionally made of wood from the hickory tree - is applied on or about the head and shoulders of a deserving miscreant resisting arrest or otherwise needing a lesson.

COP 1: "Last night, some drunk dude wanted to fight when I went to arrest him. Now he's in the hospital getting his teeth re-aligned."

COP 2: "How'd you get him?"

COP 1: "Gave him the ol' hickory shampoo."

COP 2: "Damn..."

Shampoo banana

Local term for the "twin cities" of Champaign and Urbana in Illinois. These two cities are usually just considered one area, but Champaign-Urbana sounds too formal, so some people just say this instead. People from anywhere else usually don't get it. These people often pronounce the S in Illinois as well.

Shamping

In other words Sham-camping.

When we were shamping, we went to Walmart and bought an inflatable couch, plug in fridge and ate at the McDonalds.

We wrote this definition on a blackberry while we were shamping.
