Get the apretado mug.Use is most widespread in Northern England, esp. Yorkshire, Derbyshire. Replaces 'Alright?'; 'Are you alright?' as a term of greeting.
Example:
"Areet, 'ows tha goin'?"
(Ah-Rayt, ow-z tha guh-in)
Means:
"Alright, how are things going?"
