Trumpeter Mom - A mother (parent) of a small child who praises that child in an unnecessarily public way in a thinly veiled attempt to signal her own virtue as a mother. This is usually done in a loud or “trumpeted” voice especially in close quarters, like an elevator or waiting room.

While I rode the elevator to the top floor of the bank building, I could not help over hear the Trumpeter Mom as she told her five year old son: “Johnny, I am so proud of you for donating all your toys to the orphanage while you were visiting those Tibetan Monks while on your recess.
