When swearing at somebody behind their back,
Then when they turn around to look at you, pretending to do something else with your hands; such as scratching your face.

The very first person to do a schafernaker, was Thomas Schafernaker; BBC weatherman.

Whilst making rude gestures to the news reporter, camera flicks to him live, as soon as he realises he is on air, pulls an amazing schafernaker!!

I told Bob to stop messing around and do his work! When I turned round he Schafernaker'd me!!

Sciamachy

English word derived from Greek roots, skia- meaning dark, shadows, machos meaning fighting. Thus, variously it means to fight shadows, fighting an unseen enemy, shadowboxing, a flurry of inexplicable movement like a fit (imagine someone fighting an invisible foe), and from that latter meaning, absurdity. It's also my online nick that I use pretty well everywhere, picked semi-randomly from my big old dictionary :-)

This war on terror is pure sciamachy: we don't know who the enemy is, we have no defined conditions of victory, and it can't be a war as such because wars are conflicts between states.

Scifag

Scifag is a derogatory term for a person obsessed with Scientology.

Detailed definition:
The word 'scifag' is a portmanteau on the words 'Scientology' and 'fag', the latter being short for 'faggot', a derogatory term for homosexuals. The wording of (noun)-fag carries the meaning of being 'gay for (noun)', which in turn means 'to be obsessed with (noun)', e.g. a Gucci-fag is a person obsessed with Gucci products.

The word scifag therefore describes someone who is 'gay for Scientology', meaning they are obsessed with it. It is likely that it was derived from a similar, pre-existing term also about a religion, namely Cristfag (someone gay for Jesus Christ, and in extension, Christianity)

Person A: Tom Cruise is pretty into Scientology.
Person B: Yeah, I know. He's a total scifag.
