Snoper

Someone who incessantly checks snopes.com every time they receive a forwarded e-mail, and makes sure to let the sender know they snoped it, and the e-mail is false.

E-mail from T-Bone to Lorenzo: "Drinking bleach will help you pass a drug test."
E-mail from Lorenzo to T-Bone: "Sorry, I snoped it, and you are wrong. Drinking bleach won't help you pass a drug test. Drinking bleach will KILL YOU, CLOWN!"
E-mail from T-Bone to Lorenzo: "Whatever. Quit being such a snoper."

Snopehole

A Snopehole is the first person in a group email that researches, and subsequently discredits the Sender with a "reply to all" citing the FALSE rating on Snopes of the subject matter of the group message.

Sender 1 (Ray): "Look at this picture of the largest hog ever shot in the world - its 4200 pounds!"

Snopehole to all:

" Ray, you moron, that's fake - follow this link and read the story, www.snopes.com/..., then get back to work.

Snopesed

Snopesed (verb), Snopsing (noun) refers to the act of questioning the origin of an email forwarded to one's inbox. There are certain red flags leading to the recipient initiating a Snopsing. Some are the words "Send this to everyone you know!" the attribution of clever statements or shibboleths to well known people or celebrities, often Kurt Vonnegut or George Carlin and dire warnings and predictions to cause alarm and fear in soft-hearted or gullible folk. The recipient then plugs keywords from the forward into www.snopes.com to reveal basic fallacies and/or half-truths inherent in the message.

My husband forwarded me "George Carlin's Rules for 2007," but I Snopesed it and found out it wasn't from 2006 and it was really coined by Bill Mahler.

My cousin sent me an email suggesting I visit a particular website where every hit will supposedly cause Bill Gates to contribute a dollar to the the Society for Six-toed Sephardic Semites or some other worthy cause, but a Snopsing revealed it to be totally false.

To use knowledge gained from an urban legends website or other research to administer a firm rebuke to people who chronically forward junk to your inbox. This action may involve hitting the reply-all button (public snoping).

That lady over in accounts payable sent me another stupid email about Bill Gates giving me money to forward an email, so I snoped her in front of everyone.
