Nicking Around

Nicking Around is the act of when someone is being really nice and gives you the idea that that they want to be around you. Then out of nowhere ignores and avoids talking to you or being around you in anyway. Nicking around is a random occurance, but when it does occur causes people to feel "nicked off".

Me: I asked David if he wanted to hang out today.
Beth: oh yeah? what did he say?
Me: Well it was good at first, but then he started nicking around on me!
Beth: ugh! That's so annoying, did you feel "nicked off" after?

The name of a comedic show which seems to mock popular culture, which was created by a don named David (a.k.a. gingerthehorse on YouTube).

Features sketchily-drawn caricatures of well-known singers such as Nicki Minaj (Necki Menij), Beyonce (Bayonse), Madonna (Medoner), Rihanna (Rhenna), and Adele (Adole).

rubber necking

The act of looking at something as you drive by. People do it when they come past an accident. Also tourists do it when they are observing the scenery when they are driving. It quite often causes traffic to slow down because the person looking generally slows down a bit to look out their window or windshield.

"That tourist in front of us is just rubber necking and causing this traffic jam."

"If that guy hadn't been rubber necking I wouldn't have been late for work."
