Jalopomy

A generic term to describe any noun that might be in rough to bad condition, or something of no worth. When used properly, the term is a replacement for the actual brand name of the item.

Person 1: Hey, what kind of bike is that?
Person 2: It's a stink'n Jalopomy!
Person 1: What?
Person 2: A Huffy you idiot. I got it at K-mart.

Slang term for an obsolete, worn-down machine or hardware device. Derived from the misspelling of the word "Jalapa", which is the name of some town in Mexico that is famous for the Jalapeno pepper, and its former junk-car-scrapping industry.

In the ghettos and the trailer parks, you will even find some people living in jalopies.

Jalopolized

The act of having a nice, modern item replaced with an old, delapidated, piece of junk.

Originally used in context with a car, or a "jalopy." Now used for just about any item.

I dropped my I-phone 24 in the toilet, and my mother jalopolized me by making me use my brothers old, out-dated flip phone.

My car is in the shop, the rental car sucks - I've been jalopolized!!
