chicksand

When a guy gets caught into a romantic situation with a girl who won't let go and he can't find how to get out. Female version of quicksand.
Alan: Jenny called again and wants to go for brunch. I don't have the heart to tell her I could care less for her.

Gary: Seems like you're caught up in some serious chicksand man.

chicksand

When a man is unable to deter an unwanted female suitor from her continuous pursuit.
Myron: That chick just doesn't understand that you aren't in to her any longer.

Herman: This is a factual observation, yet somehow I cannot get her to stop coming around. It's like I'm stuck in chicksand.

Myron: Touché, my dearest friend.

clicksand

A webpage that captures an individual in an endless stream of consecutive page clicks. Typically found in wiki-style websites where users are presented with paragraphs filled with branching informational links on a number of topics. The more one struggles to complete the sequence of links, the harder it is to escape. May result in browser crashes due to tab overload.
"The graduate student wasted seven hours after an errant search leading to tvtropes.com. Productivity quickly fell victim to the pit of clicksand found therein."

chickadee

1. A small, black-and-white North American bird of the genus Parus, most commonly Parus atricapillus. It is most active in cool weather, and seldom seen in summer except in deep forests. It often has little fear of humans. Named for its call, which often sounds like Chick-a-dee-dee-dee. The number of "dee" syllables on the end depends on the situation. More than three usually indicates that something startled the bird.

2. A chiefly Canadian term of familiar or affectionate address to a girl or young woman; apparently derived from a Mexican Spanish phrase composed of the word chica(girl) and an adjectival starting with the preposition "de"; the original phrase was forgotten because Spanish is not commonly spoken in Canada, and the spelling was conformed to that of the bird. Only known and used in certain areas.
1. Our neighbor Mr. Larieu was going to cut down that big birch tree, but I told him there were two chickadee nests in it, so he said he wouldn't.

2. Hey there, chickadee! You're back from Chilliwack, eh?
