Variant of cheesy. Specifically applied to garish commercial buildings constructed of cheap, engineered materials such as plywood, vinyl, plexiglass, fiberglass, or styrene. Also applies to a half-assed, homemade attempt at a slick, mass-produced, or corporate aesthetic.

Examples of this would be: manipulative tear-jerker chick flicks, the florid prose of your average Hallmark card, Cher parading around an aircraft carrier in a thong howling Do You Believe in Love?!, Brad Pitt's pecs in Legends of the Fall, "you had me at hello", "Nobody puts Baby in the corner", the entire Titanic screenplay...ok, you get the idea.
