A point setter is a person, not to be confused with the flower pointsetta. They score the most points in a game. The word can also be used to describe someone who makes valid arguments in a debate.

The lions lose every season because they don't have a point setter in their offensive line.

Bench Sitter Syndrome

When you are capable of playing, but the coach doesn’t put you in the game and you stay on the bench the whole year. Having this syndrome does not mean that you have a bad attitude, it just means the coach might bring up a JV player to play in a spot that you are perfectly capable of playing, and the coach never gives you a chance for zero reasons at all…..

I have bench sitter syndrome, the coach must not like me for some reason.

Tone Setter

Someone who escalates a situation; an instigator. “Setting the tone” is the phrase to describe said instigating. The tone setter could have absolutely nothing to do with said situation, but inserts himself regardless for entertainment and/or other nefarious motivations.
