first of all, i dont know why this isnt a google definition; and this word shouldnt be marginalized into certain subjects like i see people defining this word.

Filler: A thing that is added as extra content just to be quantity over quality; unnecessary content.

(this fits almost every category of thing)

Person 1: Wanna play Insert game?
Person 2: Honestly, I don't like it that much cuz I did a playthrough and a lot of it was just pointless filler.

In golf, an informal and non-regulation method of resuming play following an unforced error (e.g. a ball hit out of bounds, into water, or otherwise unplayable), wherein the player executes a drop without penalty and without adhering to the prescribed procedure of releasing the ball from knee height. Instead, the ball is casually thrown or placed, typically onto the fairway and often in the direction of the green.

Grain Filler

Grain Filler or grain putty is used to fill large gaps in wood works. It comes in a wet substance. PVA is often used to fill in Seamus' huge gaps, this is a serious case of PVA abuse. Shall Seamus use "grain filler" he might get somewhere in workshop.
