Catheros is when an AI does something inappopriate, but clearly due to naivety and in an innocent manner.

AI after hangman: The word I was thinking of was "CATHEROS".

User: what does that word even mean?

AI: I apologize for the confusion. "CATHEROS" is not actually a word in the English language. It was just a random assortment of letters I chose for our game.

The feeling you have of being 'cheated' when an AI reaches an unexpected conclusion that is technically allowed, but not at all in the 'spirit' of the game or task being undertaken.

"Catheros" was originally created by ChatGPT as a meaningless string of letters for a hangman game and the definition extracted by reddit user Agent641.

I ask the AI to recite the numbers 1 to 10. The AI recites "1,2,3,10". When i ask it about the other numbers, it tells me that it gave me all the numbers between 1 and 10, and that it arbitrarily chose to count in base-4 because I didnt explicitly ask it to do so in base-10.

This behaviour can be described as Catherotic, it makes me feel catheros.

Cathaholic

Refers to a person of Catholic religion who is so addicted to this particular religion that they follow blindly everything the church or a priest says. These are the type of people who pray for every last thing to God. Wake up people, he doesn't care if you football team wins!!

My parents are such Cathaholics, they believe that the universe was created 2700 years ago. All that science stuff is the devil trying to sway our beliefs. Stupid science.
