More often than not, a Phara in urban culture refers to social outcasts who are left to fiend themselves in our city streets even if it means resorting to sinister and self-gratifying survival methods. Based on our country’s current state of affairs, where citizens in one way or the other have found themselves in a sink-or-swim situation, we’ve all had to tap into the figurative Phara in us. Conceptually, Phara City can be likened to Batman’s Gotham City or the fictitious metropolis in Guy Ritchie’s motion picture Sin City. With those parallels Phara City is SA in 2025, a place marred by socio-economic ills where a Phara's instinct is vastly becoming a modern coping mechanism regardless of class or creed.
