puddle of death

a puddle of ice and slush that appears to be shallow but actually may be as deep as 5 feet. this occurs around street corners in NYC during horrid weather.

My feet are soaked because I had to walk through that puddle of death to cross the street

Hipster Death

Sudden and/or unexpected death caused by failing to take into consideration one's surroundings and environment in the pursuit of being cool.

Jamie and his hipster friends were jamming with their acoustic guitars in the street in Pamplona during the running of the bulls. They died a hipster death.

John had his loose toque pulled down too low over his eyes when he went for a walk. He wandered right into the middle of the street and was hit by a car which resulted in his hipster death
