putter failure

The embarrassing act of widely missing a ridiculously short putt in either golf, or (more often) disc golf.

It usually occurs when the player becomes arrogant or cocksure at their skill vs. the distance, and botches the swing or throw due to a blase effort.

"Dude, you were like 6 feet from the basket! That wasn't even close! Epic putter failure!"
