Australian slang for poker machines, located at every pub’s “Gaming Lounge,” combining alcohol and gambling addictions into a money-vanishing machine. Frequented by pensioners who’d rather wear adult diapers and shit themselves at the machine so they don’t miss a single play, or tradies looking to double their $400 weekly pay and ending up with $0 for the week. Likely the reason why Australians lose at least 25 billion dollars to gambling every year.

Lost my $200 weekly pay last week at the Pokies, but I won $10 to gamble on Sportsbet.
