Eastern o'clock

When you live in PST, but your company/friends/etc decide to set on a meeting time that seems "normal" in EST (9am), but ends up being outrageously early for PST (6am).

Co-Worker: I need to get up early tomorrow, got a meeting.
Another Co-Worker: Lemme guess, Eastern o'clock?
Co-Worker: Yup.

Ester

A chemical compound derived from replacing the acidic proton on an acid with an alkyl group. Those typically have a good smell.

Tina: I just bought some ethyl hexanoate from my local chemical store.
Jonathan: What are you going to use that for? Why do you need this random ester?
Tina: It smells like apple peels, I am going to use this in my perfume.
Jonathan: Don't the two components of the ester, hexanoic acid and ethanol both smell pungent? How can they come together to smell, well fragrant?
Tina: Under an acid catalyst, CH₃(CH₂)₄COOH+CH₃CH₂OH→CH₃(CH₂)₄COOCH₂CH₃+H₂O.
