The College of New Jersey

While Blee (from New Brunswick, NOT Ewing, where the College is located) makes some good points about TCNJ inflating its image, he makes some broad assumptions that are not really true. TCNJ is a great college for prospective teachers, and is well-connected with schools in New Jersey. The amount of hands-on time you get teaching at TCNJ is great, and is something you won't find many other places (like Rutgers). Like it or not, TCNJ is getting national (not just local) attention. It has been put on the Barron's list of the top 75 most competitive colleges. I don't know about the rest of the faculty, but the music faculty is diverse and knowledgable, and all have outstanding merits.

That being said, TCNJ babies its students more that most colleges, and the housing situation is not very good for upperclassmen. The administration is practically retarded, and the parties are pretty terrible. The people are largely lame and apathetic, but you will find a sizeable amount of motivated, interesting people. If you are a motivated person you will find TCNJ to be very useful if you don't mind wading through some bullshit.
The College of New Jersey is not what its faculty or critics make it out to be.

new years eve

new years eve is actaully a verb: to new years eve, someone

It begins when two couples are drunk and are sleeping in the same room. (originally on New years eve and in bunk-beds) Couple A is on the bottom, and couple B is on the top. Then, a few minutes after the lights are off, couple A starts to go at it. Pretty soon, couple B, dizzy and lying awake on the top bunk, are rocking back and forth, mortified from the drunken, horny sex going on below them.
Sam: Tres, we're going to new years eve your ass tonight! (said from member of Couple B to member of Couple A, so that Couple B can have their revenge)

New York Post

A crappy newspaper that reports right-wing fantasies. They recently made a fake story about Hunter Biden, the son of Joe Biden, fabricated by Russians. See: Fox News
The New York Post broke the so-called October Surprise. It failed horribly.

New York City

Colloquialism for the city of New York, most often used in those occasions where the metropolis must be distinguished from the rest of the state. However, does not exist as an official, political entity; the official name of the city IS, indeed, just the City of New York. For instance, Kansas City is officially the City of Kansas City, but New York is not officially the City of New York City.
There is actually no such thing as New York City; that's not the official name. There is, however, such thing as the City of New York.
