Weapon of Mask Destruction

When the individual right to liberty and freedom as part of human rights gives people the choice to decide whether or not to wear a face mask, especially if the authorities have made mask wearing mandatory for everyone in public places—in practice, they could be fined or jailed (or even caned in some extreme cases) for refusing to don a mask.

In a number of red states, millions of hardcore Trumpublicans have used personal, religious, or political freedom as their weapon of mask destruction—they’re not going to bow down to “mask oppression” even if a jail imprisonment awaits them for their repeated social disobedience.

Combination of the word 'distracting' and 'procrastinator' - Someone who's pulling you down from whatever task is at hand by distracting you with their non-work-related antics.

Distraption

A distraption happens during the experience of checking your phone/computer for something specific, but falling into the trap of responding to a message or alert (or other distraption) that you find when you go to do your original task, which then gets you lost in a series of follow-on distraptions until you have forgotten what it was you originally wanted to do in the first place.

I wanted to write you that email, but I must have got caught in a distraption, and then before I knew it three-hours had gone by before I remembered, half-way through a making of the Dark Crystal series, that I was supposed to do something important..

term used during the cold war. was used to describe the effect of one party making use of nuclear weapons, which would cause a retaliatory attack from the victim. eventually, both partys, the attacker and victim, would be completly destroyed by the nuclear weapons and no one would win. MAD was on of the main things keeping russia from attacking the US with nukes.

mutually assured destruction

A concept that arose out of the Cold War between the US and USSR. The idea was that both sides had enough fire power and the technology to monitor and deliver it that if either side made a move, the end result would be the destruction of both sides. Sometimes shortened to MAD (which is what it was).

Mutually assured destruction was the equivalent of a Mexican Standoff.
