1) Taken literally, the US Patent and Trademark Office defines it as "a word, phrase, symbol, and/or design that identifies and distinguishes the source of the goods of one party from those of others."

2) Sometimes satirically added to the end of a word or phrase, to characterize it as overused, a loaded statement, disingenuous or pretentious.

"When will the patch to this newly released video game be ready?"
