The school was renamed in 2015 in honor of NYU Trustees Chandrika and Ranjan Tandon following their donation of $100 million to the school.
Its past and present graduates and faculty include Nobel Prize winners, National Medals for Science, Technology and Innovation winners, astronauts, Russ Prize, IEEE Edison Medal, Turing Award, Gordon Prize and Draper Prize winners and over 100 of National Academy of Engineering members.
