Scare tactics

When a person threatens you into doing something or warning you if they mess with them what can happen to you. Sometimes indirectly.

1st person Can you pick up my shoes for me, 2nd person I see if I can . 1st person oh you can do that for me (said venom in the voice, like a crazy lady)? Being said in the sense of if you don't you will be sorry, later on. I don't like your attitude, wow scare tactics. So not cool. Whatever

scare quotes

Scare quotes, shudder quotes, or sneer quotes are quotations around a word or phrase to show that a term is used in a nonstandard, ironic or special sense. Can also, imply skepticism or disagreement or a opposite sense. A complete other definition means words or phrases that are quoted to scare the reader or in a political campaign to smear a opposing candidate. They also define estrangement or cause something to seem unfamiliar in a supernatural way.

Scare quotes example: I love "everything". Meaning that person doesn't love everything.

A term used to describe people in college that have GPAs that are so fucking low that if you took the square root of their GPA, it would be larger than their actual GPA.

Roommate 1:Jesse's a fucking dumbass, his GPA is .78.
Roommate 2: That puts him in the square root club alright.

ryan scare

verb; To cause great fear or nervousness by tricking one's friends or colleagues into thinking you have booked a Ryanair flight when infact you have booked with British Airways.

Andy; "Have you booked those flights up for Ajax away?"

Pete; "Yeah, Ryanair is all we could get"

Andy; "Fuck off, i'd rather walk. This had better be a ryan scare"
