Something that is cool but is not said to be cool because that would be uncool and to call yourself uncool would also be uncool but being uncool in a cool way would be quirky
Shaun is not funny therefore his gay friends think he is unique and quirky. But he is not. This is an example of not being quirky, a quirky wannabe if you like.

An adjective to describe someone who is acting 'different' by saying edgy things, or someone who thinks they're being special and different, but just ends up acting like everyone else. Can be used to describe someones humor that is mostly generic

A girl whos not like other girls because she listens to old music, like the beatles, has a mom who doesnt understand her, has a unique name, wears striped clothes and mom jeans, band t-shirts and has emerald or green eyes, sometimes hazel, but they pretend that their eyes are green.
