hyphee

Etymology: Etymology: San Francisco Bay Area, shortened perhaps from English dialect "hyperactive"; other sources cite a combination of "hype" and "fly." Popularized by E-40 and the Federation's song "Hyphy" (2004); first known use on record by Keak Da Sneak in 1998 (on "Cool," from his LP Sneakacidle).

1 : dangerous and irrational: CRAZY;
2 : amusingly eccentric; without inhibition: GOOFY "they were getting hyphee up in the club saturday night."

Hifey/Hyphee

To go crazy over something and not care what nobody thinks about you. You could be mad, happy, it don't matter. Don't make no mistake about it. This word comes from Oakland(The Town)CA,USA. This word is new to y'all but ancient to us. We been saying Hyphee since at least 1994. We don't even really say hifey no more. We say HUB!

We was in the "East" ridin' the strip with the doors open, gettin dumb hifey last night.

Re-hyphening

1) The act of mentally shifting a hyphen in a sentence or comment which contains the pattern {adjective-ass noun} Used for personal amusement only. From the webcomic xkcd (www.xkcd.com/37)

2) Verbally expressing this mental re-hyphening to show discontent or apathy toward a person's vocabulary, word choice, comment, or the person in general.

Take note: Not all hyphens can be shifted for this effect - i.e. phrases like No-Talent Ass Clown or Punk-Ass Bitch - because the hyphens either don't make sense anywhere else, or they're just funnier where they are.

Person One: Man, that's one ghetto-ass car!
Person Two: (Thinks: "Man, that's one ghetto ass-car!") Hehehe.

2)
Person One: I had a nasty-ass cold last week.
Person Two: An ass-cold? Is that some new STD?

Person One: Goddamn, I'm one bad-ass fucker!
Person Two: Yes, I bet you're a horrible ass-fucker, and I'm sure your boyfriend would agree.

Hyped up

(To) Hype up means to feel overly confident in yourself for a brief moment and lose control through being overly happy and having an adrenaline rush.
Mostly in cases you get hyped up to music and dance and sing or your friends making you feel like a bad bitch and you can't control your happiness.

"Man I'm so hyped up I can't stop smiling"
