A hot box is when you are in a room with a couple of people and you have to fart so you get up and close all the windows and then fart and piss everyone off.

to hot box: when a cigarette, usually New York made (due to the anti burn papers, for the morons who fall asleep with a lit cigarette), starts to burn inwards and only the tobacco burns leaving the paper around the cherry. Usually caused by wind or not smoking the cigarete quick enough.
