Definition 1: Hitting or working on a project/building with a hammer.

Example - India got proper hammering of 12-8 against Pakistan in Tests, Jayasuriya did proper hammering of 189 against India, Kohli got his stumps properly hammered by Johnson in 2015 WC semis.
