a person who isn't satisfied with their outer appearance, including their weight. they'll stop little to no intake on food. they truly think that they are obece. have very low self esteem. they're always cold. obsess on what they DO intake so they don't DIE, (if they couldn't eat and still live, they would). and usually, they over exercise to lose most of the weight.

THERE IS NO AVERAGE SIZE FOR AN ANOREXIC. THEY CAN BE BIG, AVERAGE, OR EXCESSIVELY THIN.

anorexia

Anorexia is NOT a quick weightloss plan- you cannot decide to 'become anorexic' for a couple of weeks so that you can fit into your prom dress. Not eating so that you'll look good on holiday isn't anorexia, it's stupidity.

Anorexia isn't even really a wish to lose weight- it's about wanting to vanish from everyday life, wanting to escape, wanting to die even. True anoretics don't think "wow,I'm so thin and sexy now, I'm going to wear my tiny miny skirt and show off my skinny legs now". They usually know they look like shit with hair on their body, protruding bones and grey skin, but what they look like isn't important any more.

Oh yeah, and you can't just 'get better', either. Most sufferers of anorexia are never truely cured, if at all. A majority of the thoughts stay with you forever, even if you start eating normally.

Not anorexia - "Oh my God! I've not eaten for like TWO days, I'm SO anorexic. But I want to fit into that size 2 skirt for Saturday"

Anorexia - "Shit! I've put on a pound! I'm fucking shit, I'm a total failure, why am I even here? I can't even lose weight any more. I'm just crap at everything. I'm a huge fat waste of fucking space!"

an eating disorder affecting mostly females, but males also, with sytoms of not eating, depression, and often self harming. Can result in death or serious physical and mantal consequnces. Many people affected by this disease are perfectionist who expect the best out of them selves, wich means being the skinniest. Many fail to realize that anorexics arein no control over their behavior and are under control by their diseased mind.

The girl felt she was never good enough, and later in her life developed anorexia.

A disease that is NOT SELF INDUCED. The sufferer believes they dont deserve food. They become obbsesed about food. They want people to understand, but truly understand their self. They know they will die, but in their mind death is the only way to relieve there pain. Anorexics are depressed and sometimes self harmers. Anorexia is pure hell.

Anorexia and other eating disorders are very painful for the victim and for the friends that watch them go through it.

Anorexia Nervosa

An eating disorder (and a serious disease) that can either cause death, lasting symptoms or - if you're extremely lucky - nothing whatsoever. Anorexia Nervosa is the disease in which the person with it limits their eating, exercises too often, and the like. It, however, does not consist of binging and purging (e.g. eating a huge meal then puking it up later.). This is called bulimia.

Holy crap, people, get it right. Learn the difference between these two, because they are extremely different.

Also, both of these diseases are extremely hard to "shake off" or get rid of. Even after two years of being "normal" I still have some symptoms, and I still think I'm fat at times, even though it has been two years, almost three, since I had stopped.

The anorexia nervosa caused the girl to go from ninety pounds to eighty in only a few weeks.

Anorexia Nervosa. It often goes hand-in-hand with Bulimia Nervosa.

It's a disease in which someone starves themselves. It's not a fad diet, and it's not a choice. People who are truly affected with the disease do not enjoy it unlike the "pro-anas" that think that Anorexia is a way of life, and try to starve themselves for attention.

ANYONE can be Anorexic. Not just rich white girls. White, black, latino, old, young, pregnant, skinny, fat, asian, rich, poor, smart, dumb. It doesn't matter.

She has Anorexia.
