Tute is the lower class short form for the word Prostitute. Like Pro would be the upper class short form of the word Prostitute.
The PRO-stitute receives legitimate forms of payment (cash). The Tute being lower class in one of the oldest professions in time will take whatever possible. Most the time barely enough to survive a day.
