A rural South Jersey township with a population of about 40,000. There is no public transportation and so there is always traffic at rush hour. In the public schools, each classroom has 30 or more students. Even with additions and expansions, the high school is still congested with more than 2,100 students. Between classes, hallways are arguably the equivalent of a Times Square sidewalk during the holiday season. It doesn't matter though because kids who think they're cool come to school high anyway. During the summer, everyone flocks to the beach and then complains about bennies. However, in the winter when the beach isn't an option, people go out and "party" which usually consists of getting drunk after two beers and then smoking a bowl full of skank weed. Houses range from large, single family homes to mobile homes. The Shore Mall doesn't deserve to be called a mall so instead everybody goes to the Hamilton Mall in dirty old Mays Landing. A lot of people commute to Atlantic City casinos for work and are part of the working class. Those who don't are middle class; no one is rich, some just pretend to be. Girls are usually trashy and almost none are virgins at the high school. People complain about EHT, but it seems that no one ever leaves because even most of the kids who graduate are too lazy to get anywhere in life.

The sports teams are good but the boys teams rarely win championships in basketball or football, while the girls dominate at soccer, basketball, and field hockey.
The hangout spots here are Fuddruckers, Franks Pizza, the movie theatres, the park, high school football games, and club wawa near shoprite and pnc bank. Although Fuddruckers make crappy burgers, the parking lot is the best place to host car shows and show off your ride. TWP also has a few lakes to swim in, most are manmade and dirty so its best to swim in your own pool.
This is one of the safest places to live in South Jersey and most of the crime usually happens from the younger high school students and college students at parties. If you throw a party in township, expect your party to get trashed by a gang of thugs or wanna be G's. The girls here are the hottest and most of them are too hard to get with and theres alot of sluts. Girls start having sex as early as age 12. The cops show up at mostly every party that is thrown either because someone cant handle their liquor and starts a fight, or the kids are distracting neighbors. The police also dont show up very often on the roads in the daytime but at night theyre always up to something. If you get pulled over, dont talk back or expect a ticket or an ass whooping. Some people around twp. act ghetto while others are either very nice or stuck up rich. The only semi-hood part is Birches West which is known for drug busts and out of control parties.

We are a people of test-takers. Basically, after finishing an exam of any kind (other then drug tests), our minds expel any information it might have once had. Once graduating from Vernon most people stand around and are like, "wtf do i do now?!" Students at VTHS are not prepared to go out into the world.
